Sander Schwartz
As a producer, Sander Schwartz has received multiple Emmy Award nominations from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and was awarded an Emmy for his role in producing The Batman series for Kids WB. He has also received numerous other awards, including the Peabody Award and the prestigious Prism Award.
Sander was recently named to the newly created post of EVP, Head of Children's Programming & Family Entertainment for FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), the commercial and brand extension arm of FremantleMedia. In this role, he is responsible for developing the vision and strategy for children's and family content, building deeper relationships with producers, third party IP owners and broadcasters to deliver innovative new programming for all platforms. Previously, Sander was President of International Production for Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI), overseeing all of Sony's local language television efforts outside of the United States. He was charged with overseeing the development, production and sales of drama and comedy series,telenovelas, game shows, light entertainment and reality formats for audiences all over the world. Based in London, Schwartz was also responsible for growing the production auspices of SPTI in new markets worldwide.
Before joining SPTI, Sander was President of Warner Bros. Animation and responsible for the production of theatrical, television and made-for-video animated programming. Sander was further charged with overseeing the utilisation and adaptation of Warner Bros.' library of classic properties and animated characters for all programming and non-programming uses (e.g., commercials, PSA's, Internet and Interactive, etc.) working closely with various subsidiaries throughout Time Warner. Sander also worked with Warner Bros. Pictures to develop animated feature films based on all-new characters, as well as the Studio's classic Looney Tunes, DC Comics and Hanna-Barbera properties.
Sander joined Warner Bros. from Sony Pictures Family Entertainment (SPFE), where he served as the division's first President (1999-2001). Under Sander's management, SPFE produced traditional cel animation, 3-D CGI animation and live-action series, including Jackie Chan Adventures, Max Steel and Men in Black: The Series for Kids WB, Dragon Tales (co-produced with Sesame Workshop) on PBS's Ready to Learn block and Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, Jumanji and Extreme Ghostbusters, which aired in syndication.
In 1995, four years prior to the formation of SPFE, Sander established Columbia TriStar Television Children's Programming. Under his leadership, CTTCP produced 11 television series and supervised the production of several more. Schwartz joined Columbia Pictures Television in 1989 as Vice President, Business Affairs.
