Brent Young

Brent Young is an award-winning director and visual effects supervisor. He is a member of the Visual Effects Society, Producers Guild of America, and the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).

“In every form of media, I respond to experiences that combine storytelling and technology. It’s in everything I do, from being in a band, to conceptualizing theme park attractions, playing video games, or making movies.”

Brent is currently Creative Director for the $70 million dollar Dreamworks and Universal Studio’s Madagascar: The Crate Adventure Attraction opening in Singapore in 2010. He served as Executive Producer for the Donkey Live 4D interactive attraction and oversaw the character poses for the Dreamworks Carousel. He wrote and directed two attraction films for OCT theme parks in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China. The nine minute attraction film, Dora and Diego’s 4D Experience: Catch That Robot Butterfly debuted May 2010 in Museums, Science Centers and Aquariums worldwide as well as at the Nickelodeon hotels. The popular franchises are two of Nickelodeon’s favorite brands.

For over thirteen years, Brent has directed hundreds of special venue films, attraction films, commercials, video game cinemtatics, live action promos, award shows and theatrical experiences. American Greetings, Busch Gardens, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Discovery Networks, Disney, Dreamworks, ESPN, Electronic Arts, FOX, MTV, Nickelodeon, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios are just some of the companies he has collaborated with as creative director and project visionary.

Some films and projects are more unique than others and most are custom. Brent directed a 270 degree computer generated film for the Western Center museum in California and the first-ever digital projected 3D darkride adventure for Busch Gardens. He served as media director for SeaWorld’s all new Shamu show, Believe ultimately earning the highest THEA award for Best Live Show and earned three nominations for best animation by the Visual Effects Society (VES).

When Brent is not directing, helming his own production studio, playing in his band, or speaking on an industry panel, his focus is on touring theme parks around the world, developing new theme park attractions, and co-hosting his podcast, theseasonpasspodcast.com.
